Dea

Juris Doctor & RYT

Dea Che Lott is a healing justice practitioner, therapeutic yoga teacher, movement lawyer, and the founder of DivineSense™. She is a certified Raja Yoga philosophy teacher, registered yoga teacher, certified mental health first aider, certified facilitative mediator, and licensed attorney (presently inactive).

Dea first learned spiritual philosophy and holistic healing practices in the Black Ancestral Tradition from her family who used these practices to care for her, sustain themselves, and thrive for generations. With this foundation, she began her exploration, personal practice, and professional study of other indigenous healing traditions - including Classical Yoga and Ayurveda - more than twenty years ago.

Before creating DivineSense, Dea spent over a decade working alongside impoverished and oppressed communities as a trial attorney, federal and state government attorney, law professor, legal supervisor and trainer, and grassroots organizer in Indianapolis, IN and Washington, DC. She is a trained anti-racism advocate and facilitative mediator with experience developing and conducting trainings in diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism principles. Dea has a particular interest in and studies the spiritual foundations of social change movements.

Given her professional background, Dea’s work through DivineSense is founded on the wisdom of these ancestral healing philosophies, supported by scientific research on complementary and alternative medicine, and guided by movement lawyering practice.

And, through her personal practice of the Black Ancestral Traditions and Classical Yoga, she continues to experience relief from physical and mental distress, comfort during life challenges, a spiritual understanding of life, and a deep sense of peace.

It is Dea’s sincere hope that her work through DivineSense might help our community and country begin to heal and unite to create a better existence for nature, animals, and humans.
