Community Yoga Classes


WHAT TO EXPECT & HOW TO PREPARE:

What to Expect

Our community wellness classes usually involve spoken instruction and/or demonstration,

breathing practices, gentle stretching of the body, and guided meditation.

 

Classes usually involve standing movements and seated movements on the floor.

 

What to Wear

Bathe/shower before each class and avoid makeup (so not to clog pores).

 

Wear comfortable and close fitting clothing (t-shirts, sweats, etc.) that

allows freedom of movement, but does not expose the body in different postures.

 

You may practice with bare feet, but cotton toe socks or regular socks

may be worn if preferred during the practice.

 

What to Bring

Water bottle for hydration before and after practice.

 

Your own yoga mat (to ensure you have a clean mat).

 

Optional blanket can be helpful to keep you warm and comfort during the final relaxation posture.

 

Optional yoga block to assist with balance.

With this deep reverence for the ancient spiritual ways, we offer private sessions and programs that incorporate spiritual philosophy, spiritual psychology, and spiritual practices from both the Black Spiritual Tradition and Classical Yoga to support our clients. We encourage our clients to develop greater awareness and balance of their bodies, minds, and spirits to improve their overall wellbeing and achieve personal and organizational goals.

 

It is our hope that we can guide our clients in recognizing and connecting with their Divine sense as means of loving and sustaining themselves as they move through the many challenges in their life journeys.
